24 Heures, Fre - Rochers-de-Naye and Les Pléiades, perched high above Montreux, have a new winter mission that would have sounded like a paradox not long ago: teaching freestyle winter sports. Snowboarders and skiers who once insisted that freestyle was all about getting out on the slopes and just doing it - "it" being mainly aerial stunts - are now saying they can teach much of it.
Freestylers turned sports teachers and those who grew up in Switzerland's schools of winter sports professors say the growing number of snowparks and fans of freestyle are creating a need for more security. And the sport has advanced to the point where teachers can help beginners.
