La Cote, Fre - Several Swiss towns on the border with France have seen an increase in arrests for break-ins recently but residents interviewed by La Cote say they consider it a safe area. There are fewer guards at border posts than in the past, but people in Crassier, Chavannes-de-Bogis and Bogis-Bossey say they are seeing more customs agents patrolling the area, which they believe is helping improve the situation. Police interviewed say that the higher number of arrests is in fact helping discourage thieves.
