Valencia train crash toll rises

(Update, 16:30: Spanish officials now say the black box from the accident shows the train was going at twice the allowed speed, 80kph rather than 40, on a curve, causing the train to derail.)

International Herald Tribune and romandie.ch/AFP - The death toll from a train crash in Valencia, Spain yesterday has risen to 41, with 39 people injured. Police remain cautious but are calling it an accident. They report no evidence of a terrorist attack or a collision. (continue reading)
