Nespresso to set up production centre in Avenches

TSR, Fre - Nespresso, Nestlé's successful capsule coffee company, will build a production centre in Avenches, in northern Vaud, with 230 jobs by 2010. Avenches, culturally rich, has had trouble attracting enough industry to combat joblessness and Nespresso's move is an important addition to local business.

Nespresso has been growing at 30% a year, with its main market in Europe.

A five-day rock festival featuring local and international acts including Texas, Franz Ferdinand, and Radiohead. Located in Avenches' Roman amphitheatre, the festival is quite small and usually very laid back. The shape of the theatre allows everyone to see the stage.

Description:

A new production of Verdi's Il Trovatore will be shown over eight nights between July 7 and July 22. In addition, a free introduction to Il Trovatore and to Verdi will take place at 18:00 before each show.

The performances will take place in the Roman amphitheatre, and may therefore be interrupted or cancelled by bad weather.
